The Southwest Suburban Chicago Chapter of the NCGR is currently meeting at the Palos Heights Recreation Center 6601 West 127th Street, Palos Heights (708) 361-1807 on the 1st Friday evening of the month (7:00 PM). Workshop With Grace Morris. This is a Chapter Fundraiser: April 10, 2010, Saturday, 10:AM to 4:PM

Spend a day with Grace adding to your storehouse of astrological knowledge regarding transits and progressions. You can bring a bag lunch or go out to one of the local restaurants. You need to furnish me or Grace with your birth information with the time and place and Grace will bring the charts to the workshop, Saturday April 10th, 2010, 10:AM to 4:PM with an hour and a half for lunch. $50.00 per person for advance registration. $75.00 at the door. Anyone interested in learning more astrology is welcome, but this is not a workshop for beginners, but you are still welcome to come. May 7th, 2010: Jane Lasser: Building Wealth With Chiron's Help. This presentation will be a personal application lecture and not about the stock market. Jane is very knowledgeable regarding Chiron and its benefits.

October 1st, 2010: Jon Parks: Lecture: The Astrological Stages Of Life: Childhood Through Old Age. Jon will be looking at the traditional 7 stages of life, each ruled by one of 7 visible planets. Ptolemy first described it almost 2000 years ago, but has since been forgotten until recently. Jon is a member of Friends of Astrology, ISAR, AFAN and past President of the Chicago NCGR. Jon is a respected professional astrologer known through out the Chicago area. He is well versed on most all-technical areas of astrology.

ABOUT NCGR

National Council for Geocosmic Research

Statement of Purpose

The purpose of NCGR shall be to provide an environment to foster and publish research of a geocosmic nature and to pursue educational programs in various interdisciplinary fields related to geocosmic studies with a view to granting certification recognizing individual achievement in such fields.

This purpose is implemented by:

Disseminating information through NCGR publications, including journals, newsletters, books or monographs.
Providing financial and technical assistance, guidance, or professional help to individuals or groups for approved research projects.
Formulating a curriculum and the essentials of a course of study leading to competency in geocosmic studies sponsoring appropriate educational programs.
Certifying students and researchers to various levels of competency, chartering regional, semi-autonomous chapters of NCGR having the same goals and purposes.
Promoting and encouraging the highest professional standards and ethical behavior among its membership.

The term “geocosmic” is defined as “of or pertaining to the study of correspondences and cycles involving earthly phenomena and cosmic (celestial) events.”

Education

The NCGR offers a four-level testing program that leads to certification in four professional specialties: Consultation, Instruction, Statistical Research and General Studies. Level III certification is accepted at the fully accredited Kepler College of Astrological Arts and Sciences as one-year credit toward a degree.
