The Southwest Suburban Chicago Chapter of the NCGR is currently meeting at the Palos Heights Recreation Center 6601 West 127th Street, Palos Heights (708) 361-1807 on the 1st Friday evening of the month (7:00 PM). May 1st, 2009, Janet Barres will lecture for us: Astrology & Tarot. How Are Astrology and Tarot Alike, and How Are They Different? What Cards Relate To The Zodiac Signs and The Planets. Janet is a professional astrologer and tarot card reader in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago.

June 5, 2009, Dave Gunning will lecture for us: Esoteric Astrology: The Evolution of the Ascendant. Esoteric Astrology is hidden knowledge handed down by the spoken word. Dave is a Master Teacher of Astrology and Esoteric Astrology in the Chicago area for many years. He is a contributor and writer for Dell Horoscope Magazine. Bake Sale this meeting.

ABOUT NCGR

National Council for Geocosmic Research

Statement of Purpose

The purpose of NCGR shall be to provide an environment to foster and publish research of a geocosmic nature and to pursue educational programs in various interdisciplinary fields related to geocosmic studies with a view to granting certification recognizing individual achievement in such fields.

This purpose is implemented by:

Disseminating information through NCGR publications, including journals, newsletters, books or monographs.
Providing financial and technical assistance, guidance, or professional help to individuals or groups for approved research projects.
Formulating a curriculum and the essentials of a course of study leading to competency in geocosmic studies sponsoring appropriate educational programs.
Certifying students and researchers to various levels of competency, chartering regional, semi-autonomous chapters of NCGR having the same goals and purposes.
Promoting and encouraging the highest professional standards and ethical behavior among its membership.

The term “geocosmic” is defined as “of or pertaining to the study of correspondences and cycles involving earthly phenomena and cosmic (celestial) events.”

Education

The NCGR offers a four-level testing program that leads to certification in four professional specialties: Consultation, Instruction, Statistical Research and General Studies. Level III certification is accepted at the fully accredited Kepler College of Astrological Arts and Sciences as one-year credit toward a degree.
