Audio-Visual Chart Interpretation Sample: Marilyn Monroe

Saturn

She was never able to free herself from the trauma and sorrow she experienced in her early childhood, indicated by her natal Saturn in Scorpio in the 4th house of home, mother and the past, forming a fixed t-square with Neptune in the 1st and the Moon and Jupiter in the 7th house.

Her chart has the pattern of a bucket with Saturn in the 4th house acting as the handle. Everything in her life got filtered through Saturn. Many prominent people have this bucket pattern.  

Since the 4th is the house of Cancer and it is cardinal, Marilyn was a doer, an initiator. She was very focused on getting what she wanted and if push came to shove, she could use ruthless tactics to achieve her goals.  

Saturn in Scorpio can be ruthless, and cruel when negatively aspected, which Marilyn's was, since it was the focal point of a fixed t-square with 1st house Neptune in Leo and 7th house Moon and Jupiter in Aquarius. 

Saturn in Scorpio retrograde can be very secretive and extremely intuitive. Saturn in Scorpio in the 4^th can be very possessive, controlling and emotionally out of control when feeling threatened or abandoned. This Saturn in Scorpio caught up in a fixed t-square could get caught up innocently or not so innocently with some very dangerous or dark areas in life or dark, shady and dangerous people.

Saturn in the 4th house says she needed lots of control to mask her deep fears of being abandoned or alone. If she could control everything in her life, she felt safe. 

Her Saturn in the 4th house had a desperate need to feel safe and secure. She may have been obsessive/compulsive in striving to satisfy these needs through out her life. 

Marilyn needed full control over her home life and everyone in it. She would rule with an iron hand in her home and maneuver her world in any way she could in order to gain control over every facet of her home, work and career world. This caused friction in all her relationships.

With Saturn in Scorpio in the 4th, She was very secretive and private when it came to her family, mother and home. No one got interviews or tours in her home.  

She probably let very few people into her home, unless she knew with absolute certainty she could trust them like family, which she probably had this kind of relationship with servants, personal maids and household help, because the sign on the 6th house of servants is Capricorn and the ruling planet is Saturn and it is in the 4th house of home.  

Some of her servants she treated like family, but because Saturn is in a fixed t-square or negatively aspected, some servants may have betrayed her during her stardom. 

Saturn in the 4th, the handle to her bucket pattern, was square Neptune in Leo in the 1st and Moon and Jupiter in Aquarius in the 7th forming a fixed t-square. Saturn square the Moon indicated she did not get along with her mother or her mother was absent or distant from her very early on in Marilyn’s life. This created an inability to form close relationships with other females later on in her life. She may not have had but few close girlfriend relationships, if any. 

Marilyn may not have known how to get along with the female gender, fearing she did not measure up or that they would turn on her. She may have been extremely jealous of women, because they were comfortable being female and she was not (Saturn square the Moon and Neptune). It was easier to act overly feminine in the movies than do the girlfriend scene. 

Her past (4th house) history with her mother left Marilyn lacking a female role model in which to find comfort and nurture. Thus she may never have been able to form the nurturing qualities that were required to desire her own off spring.

If she ever did have a child, the 5th house cusp sign of Sagittarius with the ruling planet, Jupiter, in the 7th squaring her Saturn in the 4th, which is the 12th from the 5the, indicates she may have lost her first pregnancy through abortion or miscarriage. Her mother, indicated by Saturn may have forced a decision on Marilyn that would scar Marilyn for life regarding her ever having children. 

Even though the Saturn is very practical, serious, cold, responsible and business like, Saturn is positioned in the 4th house, which is a water sign. This brings a lot of emotion into this Saturn placement in her chart. Saturn negatively aspected here in her chart could manifest some ruthless or violent tendencies. But it appears the anger or violence she experienced was more often than not inflicted on herself. She had self-destructive tendencies. As mentioned earlier, Saturn was the overpowering planet in her chart through which everything was filtered.  

These Scorpio negative tendencies and hard, cold, dark, moody and austere characteristics were qualities that Marilyn never allowed the world to see.
