     VOLUME I: Many people interested in learning astrology open books eager to learn only to slam them shut after the first chapter or two. Why? The initial depth of the subject matter that needs to be memorized in the very beginning of this important life journey is often glossed over way too fast in most beginner books.

I wrote this book for anyone wanting to learn basic astrology, but felt they could not, because most of the beginner books did not present the basics in a simple, primary way.

     This book is written in textbook style with narrative chapters, practical application lessons, quizzes and tests. It is written in simplistic language with illustrations for the beginning student. This text is combined with a workbook, which can be used by both students and teachers. The chapter narratives are written to engage the reader as though they have the author and teacher right there with them.

     The practical application workbook lessons in Volume I teach the signs, symbols, planets, and houses. Each lesson introduces key terms appropriate for the beginner. Included in each lesson are practice work sheets, quizzes and suggested readings.

     You will learn the signs, planets, houses, glyphs, planetary motion, the branches of astrology, rulerships, the definitions of the signs and houses and the natural or flat wheel.

VOLUME II: In Volume II, the chapters and lessons build upon the fundamental components that need to be learned in their proper sequence. This is a building block process with each succeeding Volume I, II, III building in the complexity of the material.

     Volume I and II do not jump ahead to interpret a natal chart until the student is saturated in the basics.

     You will learn the dualities (masculine/positive & feminine/negative qualities), Quadruplicities, Triplicities, Essential dignities, the angular, succedent and cadent houses, the summation box, with plenty practice work sheets and final quiz for this book.  197 pages: $35.00

VOLUME III:

In Volume  III you will learn how to use an Ephemeris to find the planetary positions. You will learn about retrograde motion and how to spot retrograde planets in an Ephemeris. You will learn how to aspect the planets and transits step-by-step. You will learn about the major aspects and how to aspect an entire horoscope.

You will learn that Astronomy is the science that makes up the physical or natural foundations of astrology. Few books in basic astrology seldom, if ever, begin with a chapter on the astronomy in astrology. Yet this fundamental knowledge is very necessary if a student is going to fully understand the rudiments for learning and understanding aspects, transits, progressions and mathematically calculating a horoscope. Therefore, an elementary introduction into simple astronomy is presented and you begin to understand why astronomy and astrology are two sides to the same coin. The chapter on the astronomy in astrology is presented in a concise, simplistic and primary format with the understanding that most students would prefer to avoid this area of astrology all together, but to every student's surprise, this chapter will prove to be one of the most valuable, because it serves as part of the basic foundation for learning astrology from the ground up.

You will become more acquainted with a Table of Houses and an Ephemeris and what Sidereal Time or Star Time is and the difference between Sidereal and Tropical Astrology. Many of the terms you hear often in astrology such as Northern and Southern Hemispheres, ecliptic, the Earths' Equator, etc, will be explained.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

     P.M. Dussman, B.A., is a a basic astrology teacher and a professional astrological consultant for over 30 years. She is a metaphysical counselor in which she uses the Rogerian approach of "unconditional positive regard" along with the use of the natal chart to help target both positive and difficult areas in the psychological profile of the client.

     She has lectured and written on various topics of astrology. She graduated with Honors and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Psychology from Governors State University. She is founder and President of Astro-Vision since 1973, which is a registered trademark company. She has guided countless clients and students in better understanding themselves, their families and partners.

     She is a multi-faceted counselor, teacher, writer and philosopher at heart and uses a holistic approach to guide her students and clients toward deeper self-understanding and problem solving in a gentle manner.
