PAT'S VIEW

ON THE

MAJOR TRANSITS

by Patricia Hanus

(If you have read this before then skip and scroll down to the planet symbol/picture you want to read and click on it. This will take you to my commentary on that planet.)

The planets in our solar system are continually moving and in order to find their daily passage in our heavens, they have been assigned a longitudinal position that can be read out of an ephemeris for any planetary positions in the natal or progressed chart.

Whenever an orbiting planet passes through that part of the zodiac occupied by a house in your natal chart, a transit occurs.

Astrologers generally agree that transits promote action and that transits produce energies that are felt, consciously or subconsciously, by all life forms here on earth.

The study and forecasting of transits is one of the most fundamental techniques in astrology.  One of the few points which most astrologers agree is that transits indicate important cycles of change.

Humankind has been studying the relationship between man and the heavens for thousands of years by most of our history's various tribes, nations and cultures. The reasons for doing this is probably because of an extraordinary intensity by humankind to understand him or herself.

Easy transits are generally positive, vibrant and when things run smooth, but all too often there is little challenge for change and growth. During the peaceful cycles, wisdom and faith are seldom developed.

The rude awakenings, the twists and turns, the hurts and heartaches and ironies in life are the very experiences that tend to shake us up and get us  moving along in life. Its the tougher transits that bring us events and experiences that tend to promote change and growth in us. Therefore, the more difficult and challenging a transit, the more powerful the force for change.

This is a profound quote, but I do not know who wrote it. If you do please e-mail me the name of this author:

"The intensity of your experience is

  the intensity of your resistance;

where the  resistance---is always the lesson."

Remember, the planets do not make us do anything, but astrological research has shown that major transits of the planets set up cycles and trends worth knowing about.

I believe humankind has "free will" and is free to choose how he/she accepts and deals with change in their life. When a person is too stubborn or resistant to change then there is likely to be many added and unnecessary difficulties. But when a person realizes that life down here on Earth is one continuing learning process, he/she is more likely to progress faster in achieving their goals.

Life for the enlightened can be much more rewarding, productive and fulfilling. We achieve our goals faster when we confront our challenges as though they were obstacles obscuring the path of our destiny that need to be conquered. With each goal fulfilled and each challenge behind us, we advance one stair up on the ladder of life.

Understanding the transits in our charts gives us knowledge and equips us with preparedness and direction that helps us get to your goals without as many bruises. Plowing through brick walls has always been a lesson in individual will verses a Higher Power's Will. Ignoring problems in hopes they will go away is a fool's understanding of a short-cut. There are no short-cuts in life.

If you want to know where all the major transits are in your natal chart wheel go to this site's menu and click on Astrology Services, Charts and Reports( or click here) and purchase a natal wheel. The natal wheel only gives you the planets in symbols only, but will not interpret them. After payment is received you will be e-mailed your natal wheel only (or click here). If you want a complete written report that explains all your natal houses, planets and aspects, purchase Astro-Talk (or click here). Astro-Talk is a natal chart written report and it is very informative and comprehensive and will tell you where all the major transits are currently in your natal chart (about 24-30 pgs).

I have written my views on several of the current major planetary transits, Retrograde Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

Mercury retrograde is not a major transit, but it is still a transit that is very important, because Mercury rules transportation and communication. When Mercury is retrograde a lot of delays and mishaps seem to occur, therefore it is included here.

Choose the commentary you would like to read by clicking on the planetary symbol below describing the major transit you are interested in learning more about.

Select the planet symbol below you want to view. You will go to the site where there is much more information.
